The ball featured in this print is historic.

This ball, pitched by Keith Foulke, was used to strike out St. Louis Cardinals’ Jim Edmonds for the second out in the bottom of the 9th inning in the 4th game of the 2004 World Series. After the strike out, Jason Varitek rolled the ball towards the Red Sox dugout where Ellis Burks picked it up and when persuaded by a fan, tossed it to him.

As we all know, with the next out, the Boston Red Sox became the World Series Champions for the first time since 1918, hence the title for the painting – “Finally”
